Movie review : -
A story set in the beautiful Goa, about the life of picturesque Goa and people who live there... But it doesn't stop there, it's a story about the drug mafia in Goa and how it affects everyone's life... How an innocent man gets caught in the mafia world, how his dreams are fulfilled, wishes almost come true and suddenly even before he can blink his eyes, his entire life crashes right in front of him...
A story that begins with a college student aspiring to study in US: He is so driven by his passion to study abroad and join his girl friend who has gotten admission to a university in US that he agrees to become the carrier for drugs and earn the money for education. Then story introduces us to a corrupt police cop, whose only mantra in life is to earn lots of money to give his family the best of both worlds but that never happens as he and his family meets with an accident and though he survives, his life changes completely. Then we get to know a Goa musician, who wants to live a very simple life and who doesn't have the guts to fight the bad guys (read as drug mafia leader), when his over ambitious girlfriend is snatched away from him.
Story is well written but as you inch towards the end, you feel disappointed, there was a lot of potential in the script, and a lot could have been conveyed via the story. Performances were okay, nothing outstanding there. A new talent from south has done an amazing job this being his first Hindi movie and was the most impressive among all the stars. The lead actors were just about average and not a single worth remembering performance. The item number and the title track of the movie is a current rage and the major attraction for this movie for a lot of reasons, but it comes only towards the very end of the movie... Though I wish they had not made the remake or added those extra lyrics to the original song...!
All and all an average movie, which could have been made much better and had the potential to become a hit, provided slight modifications in the script were thrown in accompanied by some extraordinary performances, but alas! You may go watch the movie if you have nothing better to do, else wait for the DVD to come out or the movie to be telecast over national TV. |
